The FGL is a single-glazed louvred ventilator, which has been specifically designed to achieve a high degree of transparency, without compromising its functionality. Frameless glass louvres enable the designer to provide an aesthetically attractive "all glass" facade, as well as meeting a range of building ventilation requirements. The FGL is equipped with our fully tested and patented rack & pinion operating mechanism, which ensures smooth, maintenance-free operation. This, combined with a wide choice of actuators, means that the FGL can be used in a variety of applications. It's especially suited to providing a secondary skin to building facades, but it can also be used effectively for the internal environment, maintaining clear outward vision, whilst providing a high degree of comfort. The Smotec version of the FGL has been fully tested and certified under EN 12101-2 as a natural smoke ventilator. The glazing options available for the FGL include single toughened safety glass, laminated glass and for higher specifications, a sandwich of two toughened (tempered) blades can be provided. In addition, the glazing options can be supplied in either a stepped interlocking or an overlapping arrangement. The glass louvres are held by stainless steel mounting brackets, which are fitted using stainless steel screws through pre-drilled holes. The brackets have pivot bearings to connect to the rack & pinion mechanism. An alternative mounting involves stainless steel side-sleeves. The extruded aluminium frames can be supplied with a range of fixing adaptors, to facilitate installation into brickwork, curtain walling or glazing. The FGL can be manufactured to meet specific requirements across a variety of sizes, colour finishes and glass specifications.
